Interestingly, I didn't hear any reps, other than the author, taking a strong pro stand about the bill or asking questions of the opponents.

That has surprised me as well. For context, I testified at the committee hearing a year ago on opening up suppressors for SOTs. During that hearing the anti's asked lots of hostile questions that made clear their opposition to the bill. This seems like a very good sign.

I don't think there is a planned meet up before hand. Get there as early as you can if you want a seat in room 10 at 10am. They were already sending people to the overflow rooms shortly after 8am today.
