I emailed her a few thoughts and she replied the same day. I'm impressed that she took time to write a personal response, not just a form letter.

Dear Paul,

Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts as both a law enforcement officer and a firearms instructor regarding the recent hearings on anti-second amendment bills.

I am so glad to hear that many in law enforcement share your views.

I was able to meet with Sheriff Stuart today and we had a good conversation about this matter.

As a member of the NRA, a firearms owner and one who grew up with an appreciation for our second amendment, I want to let you know I will NEVER vote to further restrict this foundational right.

Thank you for your service and for offering to be a resource to me on this issue.
