how does your represenative sit on HF 241?

Postby Devious Delight on Mon Feb 18, 2013 10:43 am

Dear Mr. ***********,

Thank you for your e-mail. I appreciate hearing from you.

In addition to being your State Representative, I am also a 23-year veteran of the US Army and a strong supporter of the Second Amendment. I will not vote to take anyone's guns or magazines.

Again, thanks for writing.

Rep. Jerry Newton, 37A
Command Sergeant Major, US Army (Retired)

Mine said basically the same thing... In fact in my last email batch I didn't write him a long letter explaining my stance, I just thanked him for his.

I have sent thank you notes to any DFL rep or senator who is on our side.
Letting them know their support on 2nd amendment bills will not be forgotten.

Senator Carrie Ruud (Republican, District 10) is a 2A supporter. Representative Joe Radinovich (DFL, District 10A) told me he was very opposed to any addition gun legislation.

seems a little hypocritical. Dad is a ww2 vet, and is an avid hunter- according to her bio... She's supposed to be on our side.

I'm not tracking. Her letter to me suggests that she is on our side.

I want to assure you I remain committed to our second amendment rights. As a sworn protector of our constitution, I am concerned about the increasing encroachment on our second amendment rights. I believe the second amendment is one of the most important rights in our country and guarantees our personal freedom. If any anti-2nd Amendment legislation advances you can count on me to voice my opposition.

Mine, Representative Jim Abeler (R) District: 35A, supports the 2nd. Atleast that what his email said.

I have yet to hear back from my representative.

I take that as absolute, complete hostility.

Are we getting enough DFL support to stop these train wreck bills ?
Does any organization have a score card?
No matter what we think we have . We need to keep calling and writing till the session is over !
I have seen to many last minute resurrection of dead bills at the capitol.

Yes, GOCRA has a pretty good understanding the involved committees. Read what they post / e-mail out on who to pressure... they're spot on :)

I have posted before that Sen. Ingebrightsen and reps. Franson and Nornes from District 8 are on our side.

I had been feeling good about our chances of stopping this- but after seeing what's passing in Colorado I am once again more worried.

If this gets out of committee I am expecting Biden and Obama will start calling reps and pressuring them.
