Sen. Saxhaug's passing

Postby Li'l Beaver on Sat Aug 17, 2013 7:35 pm

I must admit that my belief that Sen. Saxhaug had passed away during the early part of the last legislative session was evidently in error, which would account for my not seeing any news articles or an obituary for him in the papers. I had based my assumption on the fact that I had never received any replies or acknowledgements to my numerous e-mails and letters to him voicing my opinions on various legislative issues during the past session.

My wife and I did attend the Itasca County Fair yesterday and I noticed that the County Democrats booth had various banners and pamphlets with his name on them so I stopped and asked the lady when they were going to be holding the special election to fill the vacancy due to his passing away. She had a puzzled look on her face and asked me what caused me to think that he had died. I told her that since I had not received any replies to my numerous e-mails and letters I had assumed that he had died. She attempted to apologize and said that he should have answered my communications. She said he was scheduled to be at the booth between 3:00 and 6:00 PM if we were still there I should stop back, which I did about 5:15 P.M. He had not showed up! I told the woman at the booth that his failure to put in appearance sort of reaffirmed my concerns regarding his death!

Shortly before noon today while I was out side working my wife received a call supposedly from Sen. Saxhaug asking to speak with me. She informed him that I was working out side and was not available at the time, but that I would be in most of the afternoon. I failed to receive a call back this afternoon. Unfortunately I am beginning to believe that I will need to write a letter to the editor seeking information regarding the election to fill the Senate Seat left vacant by his passing. :(

I realize that stirring the pot can be a "Dirty Job", but somebody has to do it and I am well experienced in doing dirty jobs! :)

Thank you?
To the two forum members who have used lines from my posts as their signatures, can't you quote Jesse Ventura or some other great Minnesotan instead of stealing mine? - LePetomane
