Seanate Nuclear Option

Postby LarryP on Fri Nov 22, 2013 4:49 pm

With Obama & The US Senate Democrats now eliminating Republican opposition in the Senate, The chance of the ratifying the Int'l Arms treaty inches up on the radar. It's scary what they have done to our Government.
I know all the arguments about it not getting ratified etc, but this action can spread & lead to other gun issues. Beware!! & Stay Alert!

Despite all the bluster from conservative pundits, the democrats have only changed the rules which govern the Senate, they were never defined in the Constitution.

Treaties however still need a 2/3rds vote in the Senate for ratification according to Article 2 Section 2.
I will never apologize for being an American.

When you can change the rules, there aren't really any rules then., What they did was a start-

I agree. I also don't think the Democrats realize how big a can of worms they've opened.

What goes around comes around.

Let this be a motivation for those that need to be motivated, to invoke change in the shift of power via the 2014 elections. It's that simple. The only way this won't be as much of an issue in the long run, is to vote in the candidates that stand for 2A rights. Whining about what the Senate just did isn't going to effect any change. Being aware of the recent change is important, sure, but the next election is only 12 months away. It's time to get busy.
