Without the Gun, you're just an enthusiast

Postby plblark on Sat Oct 18, 2008 6:40 am

Here's a grass roots political message my dad is trying to get out. To that end, he's sending customized flyers to every gun club he can find and encouraging them to forward the message to their members.

A Gun Club
- without the gun, MN Gun Talk is only MN Talk

You are an GUN ENTHUSIAST
- without your gun you are but an ENTHUSIAST

VOTE in your best interest
- as an ENTHUSIASTIC gun owner on Nov. 4th

I think the stronger version of the message lies in the personalized challenge:

The presidential election on November 4th, is the single most important event, perhaps in our lifetime, that will impact our common interest as gun owners and gun enthusiasts.
[...]
-----or perhaps----- we shall take no action.....then we can all post on MN TALK about the days past, when members passively owned guns and we used to be called MN GUN TALK

The internet is your friend. Thanks to Al Gore, he can now get the word out more quickly and with wider coverage.

Belt and Suspenders if you will. People delete e-mails or skip them. Sometimes, physical letters resonate more.

I understand, but why not do both. Last time I checked, you could send emails for next to nuthin. But, I also understand the "belt and suspenders" and it's extra screwin around getting the email addresses, etc. But you can reach lots of folks in a hurry.

Thanks for the reading and the suggestions on my grass roots campaign.....and as to your mention of using the internet - YES.

Have emailed and posted to numerous sites and talk radio and gun rights groups.

Appreciate your help in getting the word out.....vote "pro-gun" on November 4th.
