Mitch Berg: The Next Useless Wave of Gun Control in MN

In 2012, the grassroots of the Minnesota human rights movement – pro-Second-Amendment groups like GOCRA, the Twin Cities Gun Owners and other genuine grass-roots organizations – dealt the gun-grabbers a humiliating defeat. Even though the anti-rights groups were lavishly funded, were supported by a purchased media narrative, and controlled the entire apparatus of Minnesota government, they were unable to jam down any of their useless legislation.

Zero.

It was an epic victory of an army of Davids over a phalanx of obese, arrogant Goliaths.

But 2014 is a whole new year.

Since the last session, the anti-gun movement has made some roster changes. In place of last year’s leadership – “Protect” MN’s credibility-free Rep. Heather Martens, Moms Want Action’s shrill, self-caricaturing Jane Kay, and the hysterical, deranged Joan Peterson, a flood of Joyce Foundation money has enabled the anti-rights movement to hire Richard Carlbom, the architect of the campaign to torpedo the Marriage Amendment, and then to pass Gay Marriage in Minnesota.

And this is going to change the game here in Minnesota.

I think Minnesotans are a tad smarter than the left may think and some slick ad campaign may only serve to make them mad. We need to compile a list of people in MN who have used a gun to save a life in the last year. Publish it when the opposition puts out their call for "sensible" gun control

It boggles the mind how you can fight so hard to protect one right (guns) and at the same time work to deny a significant portion of the population another (marriage equality, women's rights, etc.). Do you truly not see the irony?

Who is the "you" that you're referring to in this?

Or he doesn't realize we have marriage equality and women's rights in MN. Maybe someone has a copy of the internet from 2011 and hasn't updated.

Funny, flip that around, and that's the definition of Richard Carlbom.

I am a little confused as to why gun rights advocates are always perceived by the left as being homophobic and sexist.
Donald Trump got more fat women moving in one day than Michelle Obama did in eight years.

The most vocal advocates for the 2nd Amend realize that all people are entitled to all rights!

All rights as defined in the United States Constitution.

Funny, flip that around, and that's the definition of Richard Carlbom.

That's what disapoints me about him.. Working so hard for one right and now working against another.. He's just a mercenary working for whomever can pay him the most.

This should come as no surprise. Liberals are liberals first. They are concerned with their causes without regard for anyone's rights. The ends justify the means.

I don't think that Carlbom will have as easy of a time with firearms issues. I do not think he will get very far. He may try to befriend the hunters like Cuomo did in new York with his "who needs 30 rounds to kill a deer" line. Hopefully people will see through it.

It is up to us to make sure they do.
