Write your Minneapolis ciy councilman

Postby connsolo on Tue Jan 21, 2014 5:56 pm

I saw this on the twin cities gun owners and carry forum. Some yahoos at city hall have a slew of anti-gun and anti-legal-gun-owner action items in their official 2014 legislative agenda recommendation. Please write or call your city councilman and let them know you are against these measures. Detail can be found on the twin cites gun owners and carry forum Facebook page (google it).

As a Minneapolis resident this situation is Dreadful....one party rule. There is no opposition. The opposition has fled to Forest Lake and Stillwater.

The Out-State Democrats have saved our Bacon in the Legislature otherwise we'd be in the same boat as NY, Conn, Colorado and California....Vigilance is called for.

Any appeal to the Minneapolis city council is a waste of time IMHO.

If you live in Minneapolis you should write to your councilman anyway. God forbid gun control become a pet crusade for a now even more left leaning city council.

The Mpls city council can pass any anti-gun ordinance it wants. It will be null and void because of the state's preemption law.
I will never apologize for being an American.

A better idea would be to write them and tell them to stop waisting their time and taxpayer money crafting meaningless laws.

No sh!t.

Go read the post on the twin cities gun owners and carry forums facebook page then write your council person.

It is about city council's recommendations for items that the 2014 state legislature should tackle. Note the word STATE and the word LEGISLATURE as in STATE LAW. Also note RECOMMENDATION.

In short, the city council is currently deciding whether or not to approve recommending a host of horrible laws that will only make your life horrible, including letting cities (even yours) make up their own gun laws.

So...write your council person.

This year will be the worst on record for Mn gun owners. It's nearing time to move out of state.

This was on their agenda last year as well - that bill never even had a hearing in the House and wasn't introduced in the Senate.

That said, sending a letter or calling and expressing your views is always recommended.

Writing the city council is a waist of time. The political machines that run St. Paul & Mpls have been recommending horrible legislation my entire adult life and will continue to do so regardless of what we think.

It would be better to write your state legislators and let them know you will not tolerate any of their foolish recommendations.

So write them both. Or write the council now and increase te odds of not having to write your rep later. Unless you'd rather continue to sit around sniffing your own farts, which you are welcome to do, too.

This was their annual wish list to the MNLEG.

Note the want to kill preemption.

If that is a actual copy, they really need to proof-read it first. They call for reporting for lost or stolen guns in 2 different sections. Other than that, pure crap.

Wow! That's a great attitude. How in the heck does abandoning the fight and leaving help?
