so what kind of job can you get if you speak gibberish? or will they just have to hire supervisors that speak the employees language to accomadate them?

boss: you are not doing your job correctly and are creating an unsafe situation for yourself and others. apparently understanding a simple message like this wouldn't ever be important to understand and the boss/supervisor type should just accept the workers response:hergledur bokulinty zumnuv gobbity and let the employee go about their business?

Why the hell did the company hire non english speakers in the first place if the job required fluency? I'd think that would be pretty easy to suss out in any job interview. Sounds to me like there is more to this story than that admittedly partisan website is reporting. My guess is that the workers were trying to unionize and the company used english proficiency as an excuse to fire any rabble rousers en masse.

There is some benefit, to the company, to fire them rather than laying them off too.
