Open letter of gratitude, From the entire gun industry

Postby JFettig on Fri Nov 21, 2008 11:09 pm

Dear President Elect Barack Obama,

This is an open letter of thanks and statement of gratitude for your sudden and unparalleled support of the American Firearms Industry. At no time in the history of this great nation has any political figure done more to aid the firearms industry as a whole than you have in a mere two weeks. Such great support must be recognized, praised, and lauded.

We confess, we had our doubts and were skeptical of your proclaimed support for honorable American arms traditions, but you have proven your words with action, and we the undersigned hereby pledge our support in the future for all of your promised pro gun initiatives. Typically, the last quarter of the year is a slow time for the gun industry, due to the holiday season. Typically, recessions hit the gun industry harder than other industries, as gun owners have greater and more immediate concerns than purchasing firearms, magazines, and ammunition. Not this year.

Barack Hussein Obama, you have undeniably single handedly rescued the entire gun industry, and we give you our thanks. Had McCain been elected, this would be a dire time indeed. All of us operate on a very slim profit margin, and many firearms retailers can not afford a single month running in the red. Had McCain won, undoubtedly the current fiscal crisis would have led to the closing of perhaps half of all gun dealers, a quarter of gun distributors, and a third of all gun manufacturers. John McCain's "free market" ideology would have been our death. Thank you.

We are overwhelmed with gratitude, as well as orders. We simply can not keep up with the demand for firearms that your election to office has caused! We shall remain eternally grateful for your generous organization of this grass-roots movement to motivate Americans to buy every gun available. No war-time government contract could ever provide us so much work as you have. Most amazingly, your bailout of the gun industry has not cost a single tax payer penny. We can only hope that you will bring such visionary leadership to the aid of other industries facing hardship in these times.

Barack Hussein Obama, the undersigned representatives of the American Firearms Industry hereby formally and publicly offer our genuine thanks and gratitude for your phenomenal support.

I'm afraid the irony will be lost on Hussein and his ilk. The fact that most of us believe they will strongly attempt to have the last laugh on this issue is what really drives the current gun sales.

More guns have been lost in lakes or stolen lately due to the fact!
