My modified version:

My name is {ttousi} a disabled veteran from Saint Paul, MN. One of my service connected disabilities is hearing loss in both ears
As a law-abiding gun owner, I am emailing in regard to the "silencer" legislation which you have said you would veto.
Silencer is an erroneous term since it does not silence a firearm but rather reduces the sound to less harmful level but is still quite noisy.
Having lived for a number of years with hearing loss I would not wish hearing loss on anyone. A suppressor is a small step in protecting ones hearing.
Firearm suppressors are legally available in 39 other states. Criminals by definition will not follow the law and will use whatever means they wish to quiet a firearm, legal or not. So in essence the suppressor ban only applies to law abiding citizens. I cannot foresee a criminal going thru a background check and paying the associated fees to obtain a legal suppressor to commit an illegal act.
Please do the research, I believe you'll find that that federally controlled suppressors are not a danger to society and should not be banned.
Thank you for your consideration
Respectfully,
Me
