But what the current residents take on their way out will be peanuts compared to the expenses they foisted on the American public for all the travel, vacations, and campaigning they did while in office. Air Force One and all that Secret Service cost money...

What do you think about redeveloping the White House property to include a 40 story Condo Tower with the Presidential suite in the penthouse, executive offices on the floors below and the offices for the cabinet etc. in the building. We could get it all under one roof. Sure it would be a nightmare to defend against attack but I like the idea of close proximity to getting things done - workplace adjacency for efficiency.
