Protect MN worn down by gun rights majority

Postby Citiot on Sun May 20, 2018 9:10 am

From Protect MN Facebook page:

There will be no Protect Minnesota protest at the Capitol today. The pro-gun rights Majority is dug in, no sensible gun bills will be passed today, and we're not going to give them the satisfaction of smugly walking past our protesters any more this session. They've made their beds. We will remember. And we'll spend all summer and fall helping the electorate to remember as well. Gun reform is inevitable; justice for our children and the most vulnerable members of society demands it. They are on the wrong side of history and we will teach them that in November. So let's take the day off, rest up, and then get back at it. And many, many thanks for showing up at the Capitol day in and day out this whole, exhausting session. Protect Minnesota has the best volunteers EVER.

Interesting that they acknowledged that there is a "pro-gun rights Majority"

It's not often that I find myself agreeing with them.

Absolutely. We need to flip the few remaining shall-issue states to shall-issue, establish nationwide reciprocity, and eliminate victim disarmament zones.

This lunatic idea that we make our children safer by making them more vulnerable needs to be buried in the ash-heaps of history.

They sound bitter, imo.

Perhaps their time would be better spent by taking a class in logic or critical thinking?

Bitter and irrational. Another quote from their Facebook:

Protect MN:This guy should be high on a list of people to investigate for possible mental health issues and gun ownership

This was linked to this story:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/video/national/make-america-great-again-man-with-gun-flag-arrives-at-school-shooting-to-offer-support/2018/05/18/96ea1a44-5ab8-11e8-9889-07bcc1327f4b_video.html?utm_term=.d16d13f4419a

'Make America Great Again': Man with gun, flag arrives at school shooting to offer support

This totally exposes the true agenda:
1) pass red flag laws that eliminate the right to face your accusers
2) disarm as many people as possible because all it takes is an accusation (in this case, the man was legally carrying a gun, but in combination with a MAGA hat, makes him unstable in their eyes)

Make no mistake. They are convinced the citizens at large support gun control. The “pro-gun rights majority” they were referring to were the legislative majority that refuses to bend to their will.

They're problem is that they believe their own propaganda, They run a fake poll, then convince themselves it reflects the truth.

Everything about Protect MN, and the wider “gun control” movement in general trade only in lies and dishonesty. Without their number 1 tool, they’d be out of business. It’s very difficult reaching the largely uninformed population though. You know how to confirm they only deal in lies? Ask any non gun owner to explain what the “gunshow loophole” is. Or ask if it’s possible now to buy a gun over the internet and have it delivered to their door. You’ll quickly see how effective the lies of these Liberal Terrorists™️ has been.

An effective liar knows he's lying and doesn't confuse his lies with reality.

It's the bad person doing the bad thing. It's never about a specific tool. Focus on why someone gets to the point that they are OK harming others. How has society gone wrong? Stop clinging to your 'gun are bad' idea, you angry moms, and realize that only solving the 'why' will fix anything.

Has it though? From NPR, not exactly a gun rights stronghold.

The Parkland shooting last month has energized student activists, who are angry and frustrated over gun violence. But it's also contributed to the impression that school shootings are a growing epidemic in America.

In truth, they're not.

"Schools are safer today than they had been in previous decades," says James Alan Fox, a professor of criminology at Northeastern University who has studied the phenomenon of mass murder since the 1980s.

Despite Heightened Fear Of School Shootings, It's Not A Growing Epidemic
