Brits want their guns back!!

Postby sigdoc on Mon Jan 19, 2009 10:07 am

Check out this video. It was posted on YouTube last June so it isn't real recent, but it is good to see that common sense hasn't entirely departed England.

That's a good video. Albeit, somewhat scary. It would be nice if everyone in America watched it. Maybe run it at the movie theaters between shows. You know dang well the news wouldn't play it...

I can't believe those people actually lined up to drop their pistols off... The whole thing is a colossal mistake.

Study it carefully. It's coming to a city near you. Sooner than you think.
our quarrel is not about the value of freedom per se, but stems from our opinion of our fellow men … a man’s admiration of absolute government is proportionate to the contempt he feels for those around him --Alexis de Tocqueville--

So wadda we gotta do to avoid this? I mean, how far would we go to defend these rights? Million man march on the capitol? People have student loans and mortgages to pay for. Are we going to risk becoming "criminals" if it comes down to it? Personally, I'm all for the do nothing approach if/when they ever gave us a deadline to turn in our guns.... If nobody responded by the deadline, they'd have to extend it.. and so on, and so on...

I think Sammy Gravano, a former big wig in the Gambino crime family said it best, "Gun control? It's the best thing you can do for crooks and gangsters. I want you to have nothing. If I'm a bad guy, I'm always gonna have a gun. Safety locks? You will pull the trigger with a lock on, and I'll pull the trigger. We'll see who wins."

The more they take our guns to "protect us" the more they prevent us from being protected. And even with the increase in violent crimes since the gun ban the British government still hasn't repealed it. And I doubt they ever will either. Once a government bans something it's almost impossible to get it back. Heck look what it took to get prohibition repealed, and that was a ban on something almost every politician partook in.

And of course regardless what some people say, it could happen here. Heck it's happening here already. Even with the Supreme Court's recent ruling many mayors, for instance Chicago's, have gone on record saying they are going to keep their gun control laws in place and skirt the line on what is legal. They will tighten the vice until they are nailed to the wall, then they will tighten it a little more.
