Thank You for the 2019 Legislative Session

Postby daleamn on Tue May 28, 2019 12:45 pm

The 2019 Legislative Session is over (finally).

A very big “thank you” to the following:
Bryan Stawser
Rob Doar
Brian Gosch (NRA representative for MN)

Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus:
https://www.gunowners.mn/

AND

Minnesota Gun Owners Political Action Committee:
https://www.mngopac.org/

AND (of course)
This site right here.

I believe it was their efforts that prevented some bad laws from being made. I’d like to slap the following two labels on the two bills.

1. The Red Flag Gun Confiscation bill. Taking away a person’s guns but leaving them with EVERYTHING ELSE a person could use “to cause harm to themselves or others"---I call this DUMB!!
2. The Universal Background Check bill. Who would obey this law besides law abiding folk? Nobody! I dub this WORTHLESS!!!

So the folk I mentioned above played a key role in preventing dumb and worthless legislation from being passed and I thank them.

MEANWHILE (as my least favorite late night TV talk show host likes to say)

The Protect Minnesota folk are touting:
“This time next year we’ll have passed our big 2!!!”
They are talking about the bills I’ve labeled “DUMB” and “Worthless” above.
You can see their claim here:

P.S. I'd also like to thank all the people that spoke up for our rights, the Libertarians, the Pink Pistols, the African American Heritage Gun Club, the Professor from (I think) Hamline that speaks on our behalf so often and I'm undoubtedly missing several others.

Thanks for the kind words. It was a team effort among everyone you listed - Brian from the NRA and our org were in lockstep -- and our allies came out in droves - testified, emailed, called, and showed up day after day.

You're thinking of Professor Joseph Olson, President of GOCRA -- who is now mostly retired but did come out and testify twice this year.

Great job and thanks to the politicians that made it possible.

I won’t say what I think of those who try to take our freedoms...
