I'd generally consisted it impossible for a Republican to win the Fifth Congressional District, but if Ilhan Omar crashes and burns between the primary and the general election, Stella may have a chance.

Right to Bear Arms

The Second Amendment is crystal clear. "A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a Free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." The Second Amendment was written to protect the citizens of the state from the government. The intent was not about the right to hunt or self-protection. The intent was to “ensure the security of a Free State.” Should our government become tyrannical, the citizens should be allowed to defend themselves. I firmly believe in that notion.

I also firmly believe in Americans’ right to protect themselves and the ones they love. Various Democrats call for the disarming of all law-abiding Americans. Criminals, by definition, will obtain and retain any weapon they choose regardless and in spite of the law. Democrats fail to realize that fact, or they choose to ignore it, either path is without wisdom. Democrats and the mainstream media also quickly politicize mass shootings, forwarding their own agenda. They completely ignore the real issue: we have a mental health problem disguised as a gun-control issue.

It's a wonderful fantasy to think of, but that's all it is. Omar isn't going anywhere, even if she's convicted.

If by some twist of fate she isn't polling well, the DFL will just replace her on the ballot and the courts in this state will fall all over themselves to allow it, no matter how many shenanigans the party try to pull.

Not that I want her around at all but convicted of what? The campaign finance thing is resolved last I heard. Has she been charged with something new?

At most, I look for Omar to be tempted out of running again by some high paying, pretend job in the party or non-profit sector.
The socialist aren't going to lose the 5th, and Omar has a secured future Edwin Edwards could only dream of.

There is not a chance in hell that a Republican can win the 5th.

Looks like a real viable candidate.

Shoplifting aside, "PTSD and anxiety around people" may prove problematic for campaigning.
