My vision of a Gun Control Rally

Postby daleamn on Tue Aug 13, 2019 2:12 pm

I have my own personal vision of how a ‘Gun Control’ rally would go.

You’d have the requisite orange shirters out there amongst the March For Our Lives crowd and there would be a fiery speaker at the podium, bullhorn in hand spouting the usual rhetoric and then, when the crowd has been raised up to a fevered pitch, the speaker would exhort them with:

“Let’s tell our government these WEAPONS OF WAR have no place in society!”

“Let’s tell our government we want these KILLING MACHINES BANNED!!!”

“Let’s MARCH on the government and MAKE them hear our DEMANDS!!!!!”

And that’s when the crowd would head for the capitol chanting:
“TAKE AWAY OUR RIGHTS! TAKE AWAY OUR RIGHTS! TAKE AWAY OUR RIGHTS!”

And at the Capitol our law makers, Left and Right, would look out the window, listen, and say as one, “Well that’s awfully stupid.”

(And yes, my wife does say I have too much time on my hands.)

I think any competitive shooting event is a great example of gun control......... :)

I totally am on board with all the comments and pictures above demonstrating the "proper" use of the phrase "gun control".

That said, I find it ironic that in Hong Kong and Kashmir protestors are demonstrating for MORE rights while here in the USA our protestors are demonstrating to have LESS rights.

P.S. I tried to post this a few days ago but there was something wrong with my account. I would log in "successfully" and then be tossed back to the home page where it indicated I was NOT logged in. Anyway whatever it was is okay now.
