Linked in the story, was a NY Times article that was. actually. real. journalism! ...excuse me while I step outside and see if any of the flying pigs get hit by lightning and it will rain bacon!!

No doubt he was within his god given rights to defend himself. That does not matter to the left who want to destroy anything in the way of their agenda.

In a just world the kid would be given a commendation.

Well, intentionally going to a riot at all is pretty much the definition of "doing stupid things in stupid places with stupid people," and as such, it's pretty easy to argue that he shouldn't even have been present. There's also some question as to the legality of a 17-year old walking around with an AR in Wisconsin, so he may end up with some legal liability even if he's found to have acted in self defense.

With that disclaimer out of the way, it appears as though everyone he actually shot was intent on doing him harm, so absent some as yet unavailable information that might suggest he provoked a fight or was otherwise the aggressor, it seems like he was acting in self defense when he pulled the trigger. I'm sure the investigation will take a while, and equally sure that it'll be a political firestorm however it turns out.

The attorney that represented Nick Sandmann is representing Kyle, Lyn Wood is his name. He's in good hands. Wood has also forecasted lawsuits against the media who is working OT lying about this incident to sway the case and destroy Kyle...just like Sandman. The media's lies are going to cost them big, again.

And therein lays the issue with the law. He did not go to a riot any more than a woman walking in a park at night went to a rape. He went to protect businesses from being looted.

Two distinct potential criminal acts to judge.
Illegal possession o a firearm
and
manslaughter/ assault vs self defense.
Given there is video of one of the people he shot was aiming a gun at him, and another was beating him with a skate board, with his legal team, self defense sounds reasonable.
As to the gun charges-
Odds are, he wasn't the only 17 year old with a gun, busted that night.

Except that in our messed up legal system his first action contributed to the results of the 2nd. He will get the book thrown at him for sure.

I would contend that he should have been within his rights on both counts.
