Congress Scrutinizing Army Ammunition Plant That Made Bullets Used in Mass Shootings
Lawmakers are demanding more transparency over commercial operations at an Army ammunition plant in Missouri
Rep. Robert Garcia, D-California, wrote to Army Secretary Christine E. Wormuth Friday asking for more details about how taxpayer funds are used to subsidize ammunition made for commercial sale at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant near Kansas City, Mo. The plant is operated by Olin Winchester, a unit of Clayton, Mo.-based Olin Corp.
And are own Congressional Representative Betty McCollum is getting in on the outrage too.
Representative Betty McCollum, D-Minnesota, also said she is requesting a briefing from the Army on how the contracts are issued at the plant. In a statement, she said: "I am concerned about the disturbing use of commercial ammunition manufactured at a government plant being used in mass shootings."
I guess Lake City Army Ammunition Plant should be more aware of what people are going to do with the ammunition they make. Maybe have ammunition buyers sign a form saying they will not use the ammunition to murder anyone.
In a similar vein maybe they can look into where drunk drivers get their gasoline. Maybe when you fill up your tank you should sign a form saying you won't drive drunk, drive distracted or speed.
Note: I am being sarcastic.
When will this nonsense stop.
