Guns in Parks Cartoon

Postby TC95GT on Tue Jun 02, 2009 1:20 pm

Stopped by the house for lunch today and was flipping through the South-West Review and saw this on page 4A in the Viewpoints section. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be sarcasm or if the guy that did this cartoon is actually serious.

Looks to me like a failed attempt at humor by somebody who doesn't really understand the issue, but ultimately has an anti-gun bent.

Only me?! But there are so many forests and I'm just a boy. I can't take the pressure. Go to hell, bear!

Ed Fischer is a long time cartoonist for the Rochester Compost Bulletin, and this is representative of most of his work. Funny thing, I don't remember seeing this one in the PB...

Too funny, though I was thinking the other way around... Maybe one where some kids have a pack of beagles and a .410 running down the Mr. Trix (just had a thought, they could be carrying Taurus judges with the 6 inch barrel). I can see it now...

I recall reading his cartoons in the PB a long, long time ago when I still lived their. I see he's still an idiot.

I just googled him. Seems he retired as the PB editorial cartoonist over a year ago, after being there 25 years. He's also been syndicated in 105 newspapers.
