THEFT

Postby airborneinf on Tue Aug 10, 2010 10:57 pm

I was robbed this weekend by a man on this forum. See the .22 AR 15 conversion kit forum. Any help in tracking this man down so I can get my $600 back would be greatly appreciated.

Since I was confused when I first read this...

The thread to which airborneinf refers is this one: http://www.mnguntalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=15981

And, he is accusing "dfbroin5007" of theft, not "shipyard".

Carry on...

I hope this gets resolved. I was actually in discussion with Dave Broin about a trade for this gun but we didn't work anything out. I got my Winchester 9422 from him and he was a very nice guy when I met him. This leaves me quite puzzled.

Seems like a lot of people have done business with him, and even know where he lives.

Either it's all a big mistake or the dumbest execution of a con ever....

Though I'm also a little confused as to why airborninf is spanking new to this forum and has thrown out this accusation before even doing his "introduction" post.

Did he just wonder onto this forum a couple days after this went down? How does he know its Dave?

The seller provided you with contact information. If you can't reach a mutually agreeable resolution I suggest you look into what options you have for legal recourse if you feel that you have been wronged.

Just FYI, as a side note... I realize that your transaction was not a result of a classified listing on this forum, but as general rule the forum does not get involved in disputes over transactions. It is completely between the buyer and seller. We will however cooperate with law enforcement should a crime occur.
