You want it ASAP, but at a decent price? Sounds counterintuitive, man. Often you must pay a higher price for quick results....

That rule only applies to those of us who allow themselves to get ripped off by paying new prices for used stuff. I may be in a hurry, but im not stupid. Thanks for the financial advice.

what do you hope to do with it.

ACOG ain't exactly in the same use class as an aimpoint or eotech.

It will be on top of the POF 5.56 I got. Looking for a versatile sight that will prove effective in most weather conditions and situations. I like the Eotech and aimpoints for CQB type situations and the ACOG is versatile in long and short range ( depending on set-up). Also the eotech and aimpoints have the magnifiers you can add if wanted. I put the money into the gun, may as well put the money into the optics.

I've used the Aimpoint CompM2 and the ACOG TA01NSN. Two entirely different systems. Even if you want to add a magnifier to the Aimpoint.

While they can and are adaptable to be quick mount as well, it's not totally all it's cracked up. We could make the change overs, but it got to the point we would want to have verifying shots to confirm zero's.

The reflex sights are nice for 300 yards and less. The ACOG is nice if you stick to one round that it's calibrated for.

EOTECH , AIMPOINT< OR ACOG..

Postby SleepingJake on Fri Jan 27, 2012 7:23 pm

I've used all three. I have a Comp M4 on my M4 and I hate it with a passion. I have an Eotech XPS2-2 on my AR at home and I love it. I just wish I would've gotten the 1 moa dot around a 65 moa ring instead of 2 one moa dots around a 65 moa ring. If you can save up the cash get the ACOG. It's such a great sight and having the 4x magnification is awesome.

ACOG- Best
Eotech- Good, especially with a magnifier
Aimpoint- wouldn't use it for airsoft (YMMV)

That's all good advice. I've had the eotech before and have shot with the aimpoints. I find I like the Eotechs, and have had many people speak highly of the aimpoints. As for the the ACOG's, my info is from reading. If anyone has advice for this rifle please dump it here. I'd hate to spend $1200 on a sight that hate. A 2 moa or under sounds like the best choice if you are using magnification.

TA01NSN was used and is built around the M855 ammo and the M4 Carbine with a 14.5" barrel. literally. Without that specific setup, the stadia isn't entirely accurate.

But it's a very reliable sight.

OP, I got a nearly new Eotech 555 from a board member for 400, so I didn't feel ripped off. I think it's a great sight, and certainly is a better sight than I can shoot. I'll keep trying, though.

Nice use of the edit button on your post, BTW, I remember it saying something else earlier.

Good luck with your search.

Thanks for having my back with the dictionary, Bruce :)
