I would suggest cruising RimfireCentral.com. It's a really busy discussion forum, and the 10-22 is always a major discussion topic.
Some basic, low-cost upgrades that are definitely worthwhile for you to consider, particularly on an older rifle:
-Get the bolt reworked. Randy at CPC (
http://community.webtv.net/RandyAtCPC/) or Que at Que's Boltworks (
https://sites.google.com/site/quesplace/) . They will radius the rear edges for smoother action, square the bolt face, set the head space, and pin the firing pin, as well as jewel-polish the surface. They both charge $50, and both will also install an upgraded extractor for an additional $10. Que did a bolt for me. It's excellent.
-Another bolt option...for $99, Kidd innovative Design
http://www.coolguyguns.com/ will sell you a new and upgraded bolt. I have one and it's really a piece of art, and noticeably smoother than even a reworked bolt.
-Upgrade the trigger. Options range from a $219 Volquartsen or a $235 Kidd drop in trigger group (I have a VQ and it's really excellent), or you can buy a trigger upgrade kit from Kidd for $105, which replaces the hammer, sear, disconnector and bushings (works best with the current-model polymer trigger housing), or you can send the trigger unit off to Brimstone Gunsmithing
http://www.BrimstoneGunsmithing.com . He does 3 tiers of work. He will polish the hammer/sear and set the pull to whatever you specify. No creep, exceptionally clean break. He charges $35. I have one of his upgraded triggers and it's excellent.
-A synthetic buffer. Currently the 10-22 bolt stop buffer is steel. It "clacks" noticeably when cycling. There are urethane buffers all over the place for sale for peanuts, or Kidd sells a nice one, rubber with steel insert, for $6.
As to stocks...OMG, that's endless - a dizzying array of stocks available for the 10-22. My preference has been for the Hogue overmolded stocks for $50 at Midway, but if you're looking for tactical...Archangel stocks are reportedly excellent

Another consideration would be Nordic Components.

As far as I can tell, these are the two big players in the tacticool stock realm for the 10-22.
