Smith & Wesson knives

Postby wildfan1 on Fri May 11, 2012 7:49 pm

So posting here for two reasons:
First to get feedback on the knife shown. Anyone familiar with these? It is a Smith & Wesson, made in Germany (S&W imports and brands them). They have a 3 1/2" stainless steel, spring loaded blade. 4.5" closed, about 8" open. VERY sharp. Has a pocket clip on the back. Also has a seat belt cutter, and a window punch on the end. Salesman told me these are very popular with cops and firefighters. Also comes in a case with velcro closure and belt loop. I've found similar knives online in the same MSRP range, but not this exact knife.

All that said, I think its a dang good knife, and have a box of them I'd like to sell through. Suggested retail is $89 each. I'm selling them for just $5 over my cost, for three reasons: I had them marked with my phone number on the handle and business name on the blade, so its an advertisement for me. Hoping they provide some word of mouth sales for me. Secondly, I am small and just starting out, and the word of mouth will do me a lot more good than sitting on these for a while trying to make a fat profit on them. And third is kind of tied to second...as I am just starting out, I have very little cash flow, and I have a bunch tied up in these knives. So the quicker i can move them and recoup some cost, the quicker I can get more inventory. Turn and burn inventory is the name of the game for me. Low margins, and high turns.

MSRP is $89. After shipping I paid $41 per knife. Asking $46 each, plus $5 if you want it shipped. Accept credit cards by phone, paypal (via gift, or add 3% for the fee if you do it as a purchase), or cash face to face. Can meet around the TC metro area Monday. I'll be in Golden Valley Monday, coming from the Forest Lake area, so I'm pretty flexible on where. Any other day next week I can meet in the Forest Lake, Blaine area.

Thanks for looking.
Matt

I'm working on getting my wife to okay one of these. Perhaps you could post or pm your email address, as I think that works out pretty well to pay via Paypal, which is the most convenient method I've found. Thanks!

Alright, I talked her into it! I had to sign a contract that I would not ask for any more "syndrome" purchases for at least three months, but I did it!

$51 sent via Paypal with my shipping info in the message thingy at the bottom. Thanks!

Can't really tell from the picture, can the pocket clip be move to the other end for a blade tip up carry?

There are no holes for moving it, but if you drillef and tapped holes you could move it.

Got mine this morning, thanks!

I'm not a real knife expert, but it has a nice weight and feel to it, and looks pretty slick to boot!

I need to find a junk car somewhere and try that window-smashing thing out.... :)

Lol, glad you like it. I've cut some heavy plastic pallet straps, a bunch of box tape, and some cardboard with mine, and still razor sharp.

I just emailed my brother who lives in Forest Lake. Assuming any are left tomorrow there's at least the possibility that he will want one.
