Who Wants Kydex??

Holsters, lights, or any kind of accessory

ok, gotta ask....

Why Kydex? Why not ABS plastic? Just as easy to work with. A 4X8 sheet of .125 is $62. For the .060 thickness, it's $25 a 4X8 sheet

I have some ABS in the basement I have been using and just have enough left to make another set of washers for one set of snow shoes for rubber bindings.

Kydex is an alloy of ABS and PVC. The resulting plastic is substantially stronger and more resilient than plain ABS.

If you guys are buying a 2nd sheet (or if someone backs out), I'll take some. I have a hatchet I want to make a sheath for.

If not, no worries.

I will contact Pat Cannon and the company and try to get this stuff picked up early this week. It will be the .060 in black. Like Larry said, if we sant to go for the other thickness later, we can.

Kydex ordered, will have it as soon as tomorrow night (thanks to Pat Cannon's generosity in picking it up for us). When I split it up, I will fill orders in squares (or 2x1 in the case of 2 sqft) unless someone contacts me and requests otherwise.

Doesn't matter at this point but my guy FINALLY came through with .06 pricing. So, for anything future his is $128.04 each for 2 sheets at a time and $136.78 for one at a time including tax. If nothing else it corroborates the price you have.

Thanks for looking into that for us! it seems like the place we are getting this from has some pretty competetive pricing!

If you have any left over, let them know Strad. That is a great price and well below online prices.
Great job sniffing out the deals, gents.

Would you guys be interested in coming over to talk about forming that stuff some time in the coming week? I cleaned up for Lent and we could get together here to swap Kydex skill secrets :) maybe talk beer guns or whatever?

I'd definately be up for a swap meet. maybe your girls and Tickledpink's boys can have some play time while we make holsters and sample brews.....

As far as the Kydex, it's all spoken for. This stuff is much stiffer than I expected, and I can't wait to start playing with it. It seems that the uses are pretty much limitless. According to Pat Cannon, the people were extremely easy to deal with, and the transaction went very smoothly. I would recommend using them in the future for any subsequent kydex buys.

Assuming I can figure this kydex out on some small stuff I want to make a crowbar/bolt cutter/axe all in one back holster.

I'd ask, but your probable answer sounds sort of incriminating...

Either you're absolutely bat-**** crazy, or you're tooling up for OUTBREAK OMEGA 3

Either way, I have your kydex. :D
