Holster for a G17 HELP

Postby TH3180 on Fri Sep 03, 2010 3:37 pm

After reading this thread viewtopic.php?f=15&t=16450&st=0&sk=t&sd=a I have decided I need to get a holster. Any help you folks can give me on ideas of what to get would be great. This all very new to me, so type slow. Also is there anything else I should get.

I've got a 5.11 Thumbdrive by Bladetech that I like. Then I've got an Amortek by Galco that's my favorite Glock holster.

http://www.holsters4guns.com/holsters/product/AS.html They're pretty inexpensive, have decent retention and ride close.

Get the srigs from our own guy here on the board. Eric makes really nice holsters for little money compared to what you get.

I own several of Erik's holsters and have one on order - I highly recommend them..

I like these;

But more importantly do you have a good belt?
I don't care how good the holster is if it is not on a good belt it will all suck.

These are great holsters and one of the most common in IDPA and Practical Pistol. We do carry them and I believe have the one for the G17 in stock for $67.99 compared to factory for $85.37.

+1 and a good belt and you're ready to go.

Glock's Sport/Combat holster is inexpensive and works just fine (OK, I'm cheap). For local quality, go with Srigs.

I use a Snap from Sideguard Holsters along with a Looper belt that is available from Westberg for my G17, and my G21SF for that matter. Other things you would probably need are Mag Holders and extra mags, an UPLULA mag loader helps but you can get by with the stock Glock one. And make sure you listen to what others are talking about, I've learned more from just talking to the guys and girls here than I ever would have reading about it or practicing on my own.
