Lasermax vs crimson trace

Postby vwj1987 on Mon Sep 27, 2010 7:34 pm

I am about the get a laser system for my glock 30. I can't decde between the lasermax internal guide rod laser and the crimson trace laser grips. I'm leaning towards the crimson trace because it will activate once I grip the pistol but I like how the lasermax fits on the pistol. I want to know what you guys prefer. This is also my carry gun. Maybe I should just get both lasers. Double the laser equals double the accuracy haha

You can also get the one that beams from the rear sight. Triple your accuracy

They don't really serve a purpose.

Honestly....buy one then you know what he means......They don't help. No one ever believes that until they try it.

Find one someone has and try it before you buy it.

I bought a G26 that already had a Lasermax installed. I can see the Anti's point of veiw. There is no substitute for aiming. it is interesting if you get used to point and shoot, but really the mechanics of raising the pistol to a shooting position and aiming is by far the most stable way to shoot. If you are sliding across the hood of your Porsche while putting rounds in the direction of Eastern Block spies, chances are you won't be steady enough to get the laser to settle on a target anyway. All the laser does is tell you where the bullet is going (kind of) but you stil need to place the dot and hold the dot while you squeaze the trigger so why not just use the sights.

There is a use in low light conditions, but nothing that a good set of night sights couldn't help with (my G36 has those).

Old eyes, lying down, weak hand quick acquisition or any other time you can't get your eyes to the sights or the sights to your eyes. Just don't get used to them as being your primary sighting method. Have 2 carry guns with CT.
