I hate the USPS!!! My mailman need a whoopin'

Postby Josh189 on Mon May 23, 2011 8:50 pm

So I just bought a G26 new, and wanted to order some mag extensions to increase mag capacity and handle length. Got a sweet deal at CTD, and was supposed to get them today. I saw they were out for delivery, all excited I rushed home. What did I find? An empty mailbox. I checked online and it said " Incorrect address, returned to sender". How pissed I was could be felt in the air. I'm thinking of going to the Post Office tomorrow and letting them have it. The address on the site is correct, and furthermore. I had a pckage delivered last week to the same address. Did I just get the Barney Fife of mailmen, or is this guy retarded. Any thoughts woould be appreciated.

Many times with a misdelivery the items were sent to the incorrect post office or on the wrong truck. This has happened to me three times, and all three times the item was in my mailbox the next day.

I hope this is the case with you as well.

Want to know what "letting them have it" will get you at the USPS? Well, doing that and pooping in your hand will at least give you something to hold on to.

Call them or show up and deal with it. They make mistakes same as you and me. Your grip extensions to them are no more important than Betty's medical supplies down the street.

Our delivery person is famous for this and delivering my packages to other houses. In one month we had 3 packages delivered 1 block east, 1 block west and 2 blocks south. The last one they opened it and when they realized it was dog medicine they decided to bring it to us. All were correctly labeled.

My wife had some fun with FEDEX once, she ordered a birthday present for me with time for it to show up. The first delivery attempt they left a note but had never knocked (she was in the apartment at the time). Then each of the follow up attempts were marked as attempted delivery. Each time she was home in the apartment waiting for the delivery person. They NEVER even came into our building. It ended up after many phone calls with the supervisor hand delivering it.

I'm guessing you've never worked as a carrier. Apartments suck, generally the procedure is to press buttons until someone buzzes open the door so you can drop off the package. Most of those folks have a very busy schedule and trying to get into a secured building to deliver a package to your door isn't going to happen. In a lot of regards I don't think most of the postal and delivery carriers get enough credit for the good job they do given their work load.

Could be worse my mail man opened up a bunch of credit cards in my name and bought all sorts of stuff to sell on ebay. That was 4 years ago. I still can't get a credit card, car loan or anything else in my name. I have everything straight with all the credit cards. Trying to get my credit report to be correct is the hard part.

About once or twice a month I'll find some nearby resident's mail mixed in with mine. It's usually someone less than a block away, so I drop it off. What concerns me is that it's only about once a year, someone will drop off my misplaced mail...

USPS interestingly, is actually the service that has always been fantastic for me.
If it doesn't fit in the box on the street, they come all the way up the front walk and steps, knock, and then even wait for someone to answer.

UPS on the other hand, knock maybe 1/3 times .
I also (thanks to a very fine early AM dusting of snow) once discovered that a box had been thrown over 10ft to my doorstep (evidenced by where the footsteps stopped) by them.

I feel your pain. I sent my barrels out to get polished. I checked my email and it was shipped and following after out for delivery. I waited and waited. Nothing!! I started freaking out because I really need my barrels to shoot. Find out it was shipped to the wrong post office and wrong zip code location. I live in New Hope and it was in St.Louis Park. Got it the next day. Whew!

every time I order bullets, my USPS guy rips up my gun mags/OGC newsletters for a few months.

I guess it could be a coincidence, but I get bullets one day, next day **** my mailbox shows up almost ripped in half.

That's very frustrating... I hear a company makes a pill that fixes it. It's called a "mail enhancement pill. Anyway. That what i heard on the radio.
I love it when a plan comes together!
