I have one Crossbreed and one Minotaur for the same gun, a Beretta PX4. They are both very comfortable with maybe a slight edge to the Crossbreed. The CB is one piece leather (I have horse hide and highly recommend it). The Minotaur has two layers of leather, with the extra layer covering the backside of Kydex mounting rivets. The two layers make it a little stiffer and less forming to your body.

The Minotaur has adjustable retention and the CB does not, but the Crossbreed Kydex has a tighter form fit to my gun. Both have very good retention with a slight edge to the Minotaur. Both are very good holsters but I find myself wearing the Crossbreed more often.

The biggest difference I see is that the Minotaur has adjustable retention.

The clips are a little different as well. I use "C clips" on mine.

The King-Tuk is top notch IMO. It's more comfortable than the crossbreed in my and my buddies opinions. We own a couple to compare and we agree the Galco wins. No wait for the Galco, like $55 at Cabelas. Just my 2 cents....

Bought one a few years ago for the G26/G36 and have been satisfied. Comfortable and, as mentioned, the adjustable kant and retension are appreciated.

I also own a Comp-tac Monitaur.

The main problem i had was finding something to fit my Beretta 96FS Inox Brigadier.

i found a picture of a Minotaur holster with the brig cutout for the slide that was made by comp-tac and contacted them by phone to place order.

same thing with original poster, had in my hands in 5 days, however the kydex did not have my brig cutout :(

called them back, they stated "oh you want the OLD beretta body.."

had the old style body in my hands 2 days later.... :D

The "New Style" to fit most 92's and 96's rode too low on the leather but the "Old Style" rode higher, therefore fit better and it's worth every penny i spent.

they have OUTSTANDING customer service.

cobb wrote:So how does the Minotaur MTAC Holster compare to the Crossbreed or KingTuk holster? I have never worn any of these, do have a Crossbreed for class and believe was the first to market this style and most everybody loved them because they were so comfortable. The next I heard of was then Comtac and then Galco making something similar. There is even a company called http://oldfaithfulholsters.com/ that sells this style of holster in kit form.

By looks the Comtac holster seems of better quality than say the Crossbreed, but I am curious if anyone has first hand experience.

I prefer the Comp-Tac because the leather wraps around the back. I have a crossbreed for my XD40sc and its comfortable but I didnt like the feeling of the holster rubbing against my side so I always wore an undershirt with it.

With the Comp-Tac it conceals well with just an untucked T-shirt just like the OP had stated.
