" If mouth of holster will not remain open insert an object in the mouth of the holster to keep it open"

Careful there.....Don't get any wild ideas! :P

I have a couple of Remora holsters and washing them definitely helps to restore the original "sticky" factor.

Good info, thanks! I just bought a Remora for my PF9 as well as the pair of single mag holsters... so far so good, everything stays nicely in place :D

Awesome, I think I am going to try one of these out. I have a few pairs of pants that don't cooperate with my Crossbreed at all due to the belt loop placement.

I also occasionally prefer to appendix carry, which the Crossbreed is not at all comfortable for. This looks like it might facilitate that. Thanks for the in-depth review and follow-up!

I especially like the versatility, can even switch to lefty if I want to turn my PF9 into my BUG 8-)

I'll speak to the Remora Tuckable. It's a great holster. As mentioned on other threads I use a Versacarry as my primary daily rig when in business attire, but this is the better option (for me) for summer carry or when I don't have a shirt behind my M&P to guard from rubbing against the slide's fish scales.

It's a standard Remora with an additional flap and clip attached; there is no radical departure from the standard design. It tucks well, but pulling my shirt out for draw can be a little problematic because it grabs the shirt a little too well. I was thinking I could mitigate the grabbiness of the flap by lining it with something like Tyvek because it's paper-thin, dirt cheap, and tear-resistent. This should alleviate the issue of the holster shifting during the reveal process. I think I may paint a worse picture than what really happens, it isn't like it's a 100%, or even a 50%-of-the-time problem.

The clip allows me to undo the pants and not worry about it dropping, and when tucked, it creates another support point. The clip is thin and feels cheap- not inexpensive... but cheap. I haven't used it too much so I haven't had time to break it yet.

The bad- the extra flap and clip make it thick. Printing can be an issue with this device, but not because you see the gun- because the holster sticks out so much. People can tell there's something there, but it doesn't look like a firearm to the uninformed observer.

If you need to tuck, this is a good solution and it works just as well if you don't tuck. It's also optimal if you want to undo your pants and not have your rig fall to the floor.

On your guys' suggestions I picked one up today, wonder of wonders it fits both the G19 and my Kahr. I'll wear the 19 for a while and see how it does!

I have a Remora tuckable that I use for my G19. It works great. If you position it so that the gun rides a little on the high side and the tuckable flap is at the same level as your belt it works much better than if the gun is riding lower and the flap is below your belt line. Also you need to make your shirt pull very "crisp and aggressive". The quicker your pull the less you shirt will hang up on the sticky edges of the holster.

I searched here since I saw this holster on youtube. For $22 I figured why not.

Now I have three holsters for the G27 and maybe, just maybe I will get to a class so they are useful to me....

Remora Holsters

Postby Metal Bird on Thu Dec 06, 2012 1:27 am

I understand the Remora/Sticky competition situation and recently looked at both.
I chose the Sticky Holster because the guy there was great to communicate with and since I have an odd gun that he was unsure of he sent me a couple to try out and pick the one that I found fit the best.
I like it and recommend it.
