Looking for a scope

Postby Muddy41 on Fri Feb 22, 2013 7:37 pm

With my gun getting closer to being put together I am now thinking about what to do for a scope...I am wanting to stay as close as possible to the $200 mark if possible..Could spend a little more if needed...

For now I will have normal sights on it until I figure out what I want for a scope...

I am thinking red dot or colored cross hairs...Seen some nice NcStars at the Anoka show that I kinda liked and it was in my price range..

I would like some ideas of what you would buy if you had $200-$250 to spend...If no magnification then I would consider adding one to the back side...This would nott be part of that money..I would have to sell off one of my kids to get that one!!!! But would not blink to do so if needed...Also without breaking the bank on that what would be a good one at a decent price for just a magnifier...

As always I really appreciate any help you will give me!!!!!

Thanks
Mike

.22lr? .338 lapua mag?

Need more input. ;)

I've got a ncstar sniper something or other with laser I'd let go of for 130. They're 160 at bills. As-new with box and all papers.

Your price range is limiting, so the closest I can get is the following:

http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.ph ... ckage.html

The mount is worth $100 and the scope is adequate. Other than that, Keep an eye on the Bushnell AR Optics:

They are suppose to be under $300 when they come out.

Forgot I posted this in here!!!!! Would like to hear ideas...I am starting to look for a scope for a AR15 build I am doing myself..

I am trying to stay within the $200 range ppossibly $250 but that would be tops for now..Maybe when I win the powerball I will buy one within the $1,000-$2,000+ that is both day and night!!!!

But since that is just a dream I need to find ideas in the range suggested...Not sure where to start..I like the idea of red or green dot but also have seen some really nice cross hairs that illuminate in multiple colors as well..

So what is out there that would make a good scope to get me started...I won't be buying one for about a month or so unless I can find an awesome deal at the state fair grounds this month..But the way the other show prices have been this year I doubt it...

Please send me your ideas and I will do some research on what you suggest...

Thanks
Mike

"nice" and "NCstar" do not belong in the same sentence. They are absolute junk.

If you want an "economy" red dot that is good quality, look at the Bushnell TRS-25 red dot.

BSA "sweet" line is pretty decent in the cheap scope line. Each is set for their caliber so Sweet 223 is set up for 223 distances etc. I have 3 BSAs that are admittedly on guns I don't shoot often but my nephew has one on his AR and shoots nearly every weekend for at least 4 years without any problems. First one I got came on a $1300 Volguartsen 17HMR (sweet 17 of course) from the factory
