Perry Suspenders: do they have any competition?

Postby AR on Mon Mar 18, 2013 2:30 am

It seems Perry Suspenders have a patent on an attachment system for the ends of suspenders where a plastic moulding clips itself under the belt (one in back 2 in front)

This avoids the metal alligator clip that can easily pop off it's attachment point on the pants....PLUS it spreads the upward pulling action throughout the belt instead of at a few points on the pants.

I'm looking at the 1 & 1/2 inch Extra Large in black. Other choices are 'Regular' and '2 inch'

I'm 6 ft 300 and Perry recommends the XL for anyone over 6' ore 225 Lbs.

I think the 2" looks a little too "Industrial" like it belongs on a jobsite and I can get away with a black XL 11/2 inch version for dress use.

Question: anyone use them / like them and Do they have a competitor the will pass for both utility and dress purposes....

They're also referred to as 'Dickies Perry Suspenders' Available at JCPenny online and some local stores $15.00 & shipping.

I wonder if any of the big sporting goods shops carry these?

Here's another style that has only 2 attachment points one on each side.

I've got the Duluth Trading Co. double clip version. They use alligator clips but they're comfortable and work well when I'm carrying a lot of gear on my belt.

I picked up some of the 3 point perrys a couple years ago and they are amazing. Mainly wear them for work, when im chainsawing so I dont have to be pulling my pants up all the time. They are cheap enough, and awesome. Never had them fall off.
