LED Headlamps

Postby Ironbear on Thu Nov 14, 2013 11:54 am

Short story... I had an LED headlamp, but it had wiring issues. Store replaced it, but the replacement had the same problem. It has been a couple of years and now I am in the market again.

What LED headlamps do you have/like/recommend, and why?

LED Headlamps

I really like the fenix flashlights and headlights. I have this model and it works awesome. Very bright and the diffuser works great too. They also have a 360 lumen version now, the HP25. Hope this helps.

I bought this set and really like it HOWEVER I never put it back to being a flashlight so if I where to do it again I would go to the same seller and check out the ones he has that do NOT convert to flashlights. BTW also have flashlight that is the same.

I have a Fenix HL-30 as well and I like it a lot. The light is a little bigger than a Zippo and 200 lumens

I thought you were the one concerned about Chinese military strength. That isn't helping :D

Buying Walmart = Buying China. They're going to be building Jeeps in China and selling them here.

That's what I had thought I did... my original (and the replacement) was a Black Diamond from REI. Both had exactly the same problem. Either bad design or faulty manufacturing, I guess.

Really liked it while it worked.

I notice that the particular model is no longer produced...

The Browning is very rugged and the lights I've given to buddies I hunt with get used alot and in varying conditions without complaint - its camo and designed for hunting.

I have been using the Energizer brand for work for a couple years now and others that I work with use the same brand. I find them very dependable, sturdy, and bright. The price is right too. This is the new model. For half the price of others, these are happily disposable when worn out.

I also have a Petzl Zipka Plus and that has proven to be sturdy and dependable. The best thing is you can wear it anywhere - like on your wrist - which comes in handy sometimes. I like these alot for their versatility. You can mount it virtually anywhere. The string is durable.

just picked up this one...http://www.amazon.com/Olight-H15S-Flashlight-1200mAh-Battery/dp/B00FWGSYNM/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1384620337&sr=8-3&keywords=olight+h15s
has a couple really neat features like touchless on/off. A big selling point, it comes with a rechargeable battery pack and you can still put standard aaa in it. plus it can spot light or diffuse for close up work.

FOURSEVENS just released their headlamp kit. Pretty slick if you ask me and when it comes to LED flashlights they are one of the best games in town. Pick that up with your choice of compatible flashlights and you'll have a sweet flashlight that can also be used as a headlamp when needed.
