A gimic that actually works.

I've always been a little disappointed with the accuracy of my Ruger RPR (17HMR). The best groups I could achieve were about 1.25 to 1.5MOA. On a lark I thought I'd try one of these Limbsaver Deresonators.

After a 10 shot group to foul and warm up the barrel I shot 2 5 shot groups on my Shotmarker electronic target.

Amazing how a stupid little piece of rubber can cut group sizes in half.

I've been on a kick watching and reading a bunch on tuners, dampening devices. It has led me into rethinking the number of shots I use to test products and get a "better" zero. My 17 hmrs have been a little disappointing and I mostly assumed it my fault. If it continues to show that it improved your rig that's awesome! I would buy one (or lots) to try.
I wish MN would allow 17hmrs for grouse hunting even if I was limited to headshots and certain safe shooting scenarios. Nice shooting

Looks kinda Flash Gordonish, but for $12 I’m willing to give it a shot. Would a standard diameter .308 barrel use the smaller version?

Is resonance something unique to very small diameter barrels, or is it a factor for more common calibers?

Dealing with barrel resonance is the the main factor behind fine tuning ammo for precision shooting...and some even use barrel tuners.
A tuner is about the only option for matching rimfire ammo to a particular barrel.

My Ruger has a 7/8" barrel so I ordered the larger "Bull Barrel" version. The regular one is suppose to fit up to a 7/8" barrel.

Thanks Rip. My .308 mics at .76 so the smaller should be good for all my long guns.
