I have an older Bausch and Lomb spotting scope that was just one of my favs for the range. Took it out to the range Sat and the zoom and focus seemed to be locked up. Thought maybe it was the cold but now after warmed up the zoom is ‘stiff’ but moves and the focus knob just barely moves. Am trying to figure out how best to free them up. I was thinking of a tiny drop of reel oil on the spindles? Or maybe go the other direction and try carb cleaner on the spindles. Or do I going oil-less and use graphite? Advice?
