This is for local brick and mortar stores only and only for the lowest priced brand. It is not a comprehensive inventory analysis, just the cheapest available 50 round box unless otherwise noted.

American Eagle is good brass FMJ ammo. However, if I am just going to the range, you can't beat 100 rounds of Winchester White Box 230Gr .45ACP for $30. In fact, all your target shooting and practice rounds can't be beat n price anywhere other than Walmart; at least, I haven't seen anyplace [except my basement press].

How about $25 for 100 rounds of Remington UMC when Dick's has their sale and you use the $10 coaches coupon.

Only downside is, they don't always have the sale going on and the coupon expires in December and who knows if they will have another after that. But it is a pretty good deal when it can be had. :)

Edit:
This is from their current ad for Oct. 1 - Nov. 15
Remington UMC .45 or .40 S&W - Sale 15.98

Buy 2 boxes to get the $10 off $25 coaches coupon. $21.96 before tax for 100 rounds. :D

I like Remington much better than WWB ... at least, I like their cases better for reloading.

But ....

WHEN :-) Walmart has 100 rounds of WWB for $30.00 everyday. If I buy ammo, unless I have the time to go searching for deals, I just head to Walmart, at least for target rounds. Besides, the nearest Walmart is 2 miles away and the nearest Dicks is 15-18 miles away and in a county with a higher sales tax ;-)

Gun Stop has quite a bit of 5.56 right now. 55gr is $109 for 300, and 62gr. is $149 for 400. It's all imported milsurp.

I see prices dropping a little on .45 acp at least. Was in Dicks at Burnsville last week, UMC was sold out but they had it at $16.97/50. gun-deals.com reports UMC going for $30/100 in .45acp at Dicks as of a few days ago.

Has anyone seen the same results lately? I'll probably take a lap around town tomorrow while Christmas shopping and see if I come across any more.

Natchez has Blazer Brass for $14.99/50, but shipping makes the per round cost .35 or .40 so it isn't a huge deal yet.

I had a Sportsmans Warehouse $10 off coupon, after purchasing $50. Wanted to buy ammo of various calibers. I couldn't believe how expensive it was. Had never seen prices that high. Even with the discount it was significantly more expensive than Sportsmans Guide, Wally World...
