Sewing Awl

Is this the kind of punch you guys use to make holsters? Is this a good deal?

I own one but seldom use it. It is functional but for me I ended up bending the awl needle for some reason. Probably just not doing it correctly. you could punch the leather with a standard awl or punch chisel and then use this awl for the sewing. It may or may not be faster than hand stitching, I don't know. I got frustrated and went the multi-punch and hand sew route.
