Isn't there a guy around the Cities that has decent safes and prices ? I think I remember him being talked about here.

I picked up an Amsec from Blaine Lock and Safe. Not sure how good their prices are comparatively, but they beat any online prices I could find. They also carry Gardall. I am happy with my purchase from them.

I have a small Browning safe that I would sell.
Wifey won't let me put it where I wanted to.
I said she could use it for her jewelry too, but that didn't work either.
Still strapped on the moving cart ............. $666.66

Thanks for the offer, but I am looking for a full sized safe with a rotary lock, and prefer a combo interior (rifle rack and shelves).

I don't know if you would call it the "cities," but there is the Safe and Knife Company in Rogers. The owner John is a good guy and his prices are reasonable. You can go to the web site for contact info (http://www.safeandknifemn.com).

Lowe's and Sams Club both carry very basic fire rated safes.

What sort of Amsec safe do you have?

Its one of their "cheaper" models that is not made in the USA. I forget the exact model number, its like 2030 or something like that. I wanted the same sized safe made by Gardall, but it was about $600 more and weighed 600 pounds. I wasn't interested in testing the strength of the stairs in the duplex i was living in, so I went for the lighter, cheaper Amsec (although still 400 pounds).

Good question I was wondering the same thing too.
Not sure what brand yet. Fort Knox, Cannon, etc.

Oh, I was thinking you might have gone for one of the TL-30 type safes. ;)

A-36 has another more common name = mild steel.

I just got a safe last night, and inside it, along with my guns will be my plasma tips, and some other key components which would otherwise be readily available in my shop.

Safes are only a delay and deterrent. You can spend tons of money on one, and I'd still be inside it in under 2 minutes.

I'd be interested in knowing how you would get into a TRTL-30 safe in under 2 minutes. Does your shop have a license for explosives?

I'd cut the door off from the sides.

That one might take me 15 minutes, but I could probably still do it alone with tools that'd fit in a bowling ball bag.
