Aimpoint: PRO vs. Micro

Postby Terry on Mon Jul 30, 2012 8:30 am

I have an Aimpoint PRO on my Colt M4 Carbine and am thinking about buying a Micro for my BCM mid-length.

Anyone have any input or experience to share about the PRO vs. the Micro?

I really like the idea of the micro, but I just like my M3 so much better. I feel like I have to squint to focus through the micro, but not the M3. (FYI - M3 looks just like the Pro which I assume you know) I sold my micro.

A lot of people like the T-1. Me, I don't. I find the 20mm tube to be restricting and making dot acquisition more cumbersome than I'd like. I also find the my T-1 has a lot of weird internal reflections, annoying in certain lighting conditions. And, I find the blobby 4 MOA dot on the older version to be pretty much unusable with a magnifier. The size and weight are nice, but don't come near close enough to outweighing the disadvantages to me. I vastly prefer the PRO, or any of the Eotechs I own.
