Safe opinion

Looking at new larger safe like 48 size. Best price with delivery to my basement is Winchester by several hundred bucks. No actual collector type firearms so super thousands of buck safes are out. Any opinions on the Winchester line? This one is a made in USA, not one of thier Chinese versions.

I have a Winchester Ranger and like it a lot

Keep in mind that most of them have external hinges, which some people don't like, but it allows the door to be opened 180 degrees which I DO like

No both on price and ability to get it when it needs to be. Twice as much $$ and above max weight for delivery.

The Tradition, Pony and Bandit series are made for Winchester in Fort Worth, Texas. I would assume that the rest are not made in the USA.

I believe in a good safe, backed up by really good insurance. Should have money for both. Just my opinion.

You could call and see what was immediately available. If weight is the problem get 2 and the doors are removeable to help with the weight. Plus no sales tax. Watch the videos on their site you'll get a better safe for the money although not the best looking.

That would be more than double the price and have two delivery charges???

IMO that is exactly why the safe need not be of the quality one would want if they had collector quality or irreplaceable guns. Thus good insurance and OK type safe.

Note original info - delivery to garage is not the problem as most out there will get that far.

Got it at http://www.gunsafesnow.com

BTW anyone getting a safe from anywhere I did find a really good price on delivering to my basement and that is what they do over and over. IE mine is a bit difficult - across patio, 15 feet of grass, up deck stairs, through 25 foot room, around corner and down angled steps, landing and 12 steps to basement, around corner and down the hall. 750 pound safe $350. Next closest estimate was $600 from general movers.

Tony, vid helped me decide to get digital lock as it was evident I would use the safe more often and for more things if it was easy to get in and out of vs dial lock. Thanks.
