What's in Your Ballast Bag?

Postby yukonjasper on Wed Feb 28, 2018 8:25 am

I've got a couple of Caldwell ballast bags coming. These will ride in a lead sled. Are people using lead in these bags? Lead seems sorta expensive. Other than sand, what else are people using?

Thanks for your thoughts.

(Finally figured out why no one responded - I posted this in the wrong spot.)

My suggestion:

IIRC, the weight tray on the Lead Sled is contoured so you can use barbell weights for ballast.
Return the ballast bags, go to Craigslist and find a couple used 25# cast iron weight plates to use for ballast.
