I have actually already ordered up a couple Wilson 47D's. I'll also grab a couple of the ETMs as well. The only negative things I have come across regarding this gun are the magazines it ships with can be problematic.

Heading out to buy some 230gr FMJ range ammo now. Thanks for the suggestions.

The Wilsons are great. I really like the McCormick Power Mags and am slowly switching over to them. Something to consider...

Sounds good!

Fer years, any 1911 I bought that didn't come with Wilsons, I'd jest leave 'em in the box, and order a couple Wilsons. At some point, I didn't need to order more Wilsons. ;)

McCormick is the other manufacturer that has come up in all my research. The only one more common was Wilson. I've already ordered a couple Wilson, so I guess I'll grab a couple McCormick as well. I have a feeling that 1911 and I are going to get along swimmingly!

Just returned from wally world. It's very rare I actually yell when I'm in a store, but after waiting around and searching for an employee in the sporting goods section, I actually went into the main aisle and yelled "does anyone **** work here!". I had some assistance in under a minute. I've noticed Minnesotans are so... polite. In that passive/aggressive sort of way. Picked up the last two boxes of WWB 100 count they had. $36!?! Not bad! Almost worth going to wally world.

Thanks for the tips y'all. Very helpful for a 1911 noob.

Never heard of a 1911 that didn't feed 230gr FMJ. .. maybe start with that.

Just returned from wally world, and other than the expected horrible purchase experience, I did pick up the last two WWB .45 230gr FMJ at $36/box of 100. Not bad! Still deciding if it was worth it, but I can now go to the range and have enough ammo I don't need to be gouged by them for another box of ,45!
