... to be fair I'd take this with a grain of salt until someone actually sees a tag on the rifle in stores and can provide more facts on the configuration in question. While FF employees are often VERY helpful there are still, quite often, conflicting stories about how-when-what-etc... even between folks in the same store.

As long as you go to customer service and request to be placed on the list (providing they are not in stock) the price they honor is the price in their system.

$1049.00 now the new price it appears at some locations for the Mark IV carbine. I have my name at another location and I got that one for $949.00 over there about 1 month ago. So it appears the Mark IV carbine is going up in price, but not by $600.

This frenzy reminds me of what took place in 1996 with the Assault Weapons Ban under Bill Clinton, same panic.

Saw one in Blaine - it has a JP modular trigger, Magpul PRS stock, the stainless barrel is fluted and threaded with a nice JP (?) compensator, could not identify the rail - Sampson/Knights maybe? Includes 6 magazines... Nice looking rifle.

Blaine also had a pile (60+) boxes of .40 S&W (Remington Green/white 100 ct boxes) in stock.

Sounds like the Jager. Sampson Evo rail and JET comp. It should come with a bipod, too.

Just saw a Jager w/bipod in stock at the Rochester FF. $2049. They also have a shelf full of Remington UMC 40 S&W 100rd boxes for $44.95.

People griped about the price earlier so I was tweaking around with the numbers.... I came to the conclusion that this is simply a premium rifle priced fairly to market rather than any sort of gouge pricing on an otherwise unremarkable rifle (see Armslist/Gunbroker).

Assuming you start with a standard A2/flat top style AR the upgrades include:

Stainless 20" fluted barrel... +$100, Magpup PRS stock +$250, Sampson 15" rail +$200, JP EZ Trigger +250, AA Jet Comp +80.. tag on 6 GI magazines, a bipod and a soft sided case for at least $120... you're easily talking $1000+ worth of upgrades at end user cost. The basic Huldra/Korstog (Adams?) rifles are not cheap/budget models and normally sell their base model carbines in the $800-$1000 range even pre panic...

Not 100% on topic, but close...

Rogers Cabela's has a full rack of AR rifles as of lunch today. Probably at least 10 sitting there, in many different flavors.

Going to be a lot of unhappy Armslisters/Gunbroker AR/AK sellers real soon if they haven't flipped their stash already. Pop goes the bubble...

Good! Sometimes capitialism works to your benefit---sometimes it doesn't. Most of us have seen the market stabilizing as the bills get defeated and as supply ramped up; if you didn't see it coming and got stuck with credit card bills stacking up---I am willing to buy below retail.
