Not possible. I've been on the "notify" list for that item for 2 months. I think the guys working the counter set up their buddies, or they simply opened the cans to sell individually....or worse bought it all themselves. My buddy bought two cans Saturday night and was told there were 500 more left. They were closed Sunday and Monday, and now they're sold out? Yea right.

In the mean time, the item never showed up on their website and I was never notified of it's availability. Something is very fishy.

I don't know about fishy... Their retail store inventory is separate from their catalog inventory. If they get it in and put it into retail stock it never hits the catalog inventory list. Frankly, I give them credit to catering to their local (mostly regular and loyal) customers. I don't have a Fleet Farm in my back yard like some of you do, so it's nice for me to have someplace getting in some ammo and selling it at a pre-panic price. I have to work during the day, so this is the only game for me to be able to pop out and pick something up on my lunch break.

If that's the case, how did they go from 300 tins left in stock on the retail side Saturday at close, to none in stock this morning at open?

I hear you on having a local spot, that's crucial.

Same stuff happened at Fleet Farm after deals got posted online.. hell I walked into BP weeks ago and saw dozens of bricks of .22 Blazer sitting on a shelf and nobody paying the least bit of attention to them.. threw a note on here and the next guy who showed up less than an hour later found an empty shelf.

I'm impressed this deal lasted a couple of days, finding 9mm at $0.21 a pop/$210 a case (round math) is a steal in the current market, it was only a matter of time until a few guys with shopping carts rolled in and blew the rest out the door and on to Armslist once the word got out.

Its happening regardless of your posts... Shutting down the FF inventory thread isn't going to curb anything, only hurt the guys looking for stuff to shoot.

Gunbot shows that it appeared online as "in stock" earlier today.

Confused employees maybe, who knows.....

Tony said there was a guy behind him with a shopping cart full of those cans, late Saturday afternoon.

I don't know if they have them left or not as I don't have a 9mm, so I don't look for it.

I've gotten to the point that I'm with yuppiejr on the ammo threads. I'm not participating anymore in publicly announcing where any and all supplies are. I stop by there at least once a week, if not more. So if there is an individual looking for something specific I will be happy to check for them if they send a PM. Beyond that, I'm done with helping people buy out the supplies I need for my next range trip only to see them post it for sale on here and/or Armslist!

The part that confuses me, is they limit handgun ammo to 2 boxes per person per day.....fishy indeed

These were NOT listed in as retail inventory, but also not listed as online. You had to ask online/warehouse folks for these and get a will call form.

This was was a very odd situation.

Plus you get guys trying to link the retail price to beat the gougers. But I know it's still hard for folks to get down there. I gave (sold) my first one at cost to my neighbor, who I knew couldn't get over there.

Buddy said this morning they all of a sudden had a bunch of WPA boxes on the shelf, and he saw a guy taking them from open tins putting them on the shelf....looks like they found a way to make more $$ off of them. I bet the boxes say "not for individual sale"

Not for all of it they don't. I believe from the signs I saw today it was only specific calibers. I will double check when I stop in again though...

I was in Saturday and bought one case.

I called this morning and was told they were OOS. The gentleman explained to me that they had 500 cases when he left on Saturday - but were all gone as of this morning. He said that the store's stock is part of the warehouse and that it was sold yesterday through the online.

Using my receipt from Saturday, I looked up the SKU as 219033 and it shows as OOS. I didn't look yesterday - so I don't know if it was in stock then. I guess I have to take his word for it.

Saturday you could purchase 2 - 50 round boxes of the WPA 9mm - but in other calibers it was a 5 box max. The Brown Bear 7.62x39 HP was a 5 box limit at $6.49 a box of 20.
