It is getting very old not being able to find ammo.... My girls are thriving to go and hit the range more often but one cannot really afford to if I cannot find more ammo to buy. Eventually I will be without any and then won't be able to go the range at all!!! This is really getting old. Can't even go to a gun show and buy ammo without paying an arm and a leg for it!!

Calgon take me away.... Until this comes to a hault were the gouger quit trying to make a living on upping the price of ammo.... Kids like mine are not truly going to get the opportunity to enjoy the sport at all before they grow old of it because they can't get out to shoot any more..

I know everyone doesnt have the luxury of going to FF or Walmart everyday. Unfortunately, if you want to find the stuff you have to put in a bit more effort. Ive found 1k rounds of every popular caliber since Christmas. You just have to be on the lookout and get a bit lucky. .40 and .45 are the most common and 22lr, 9mm, and .223 are the toughest. Dont give up hope and dont pay scalpers, you will get yours if you put in a little effort.

Calculate the number of shopping trips it took to acquire that ammo. Account for your driving expenses, and the value of your time. Added to the price you paid for ammo, I'm guessing the cost per round is on par with, or greater than that to be found on GB.

But a man's got to have principles. Don't pay scalpers. Plus - with phones and the internet - searching for ammo is a negligible cost. The value of your time is also negligible unless you are skipping out on work or ignoring clients to do it. Most are probably just sacrificing TV time for ammo time.

I was doing the Walmart website thing since before December so most trips were fruitful. I would also stop quick if I had to go somewhere near Walmart and did the grocery shopping there too. There were plenty of wasted trips and my time was my time, it was what I chose to do with it. I've always been a collector of some sort so the habits felt familiar. I got caught up in it just like everyone else... Whatever, it was fun for a while. I'm very well stocked, I've helped a lot of my buddies and guys I work with, never sold one round, and put myself in the poor house :). I'm done with it though. If I see 22lr ill buy it but that's about it.

That being said, got an email from midway saying the Winchester m22 was in stock(1000 or 2000) but apparently it sold out in less than 10 min. No luck this time.

When I say "in stock", remember that is a relative statement. Gotta strike while the irons hot!

I did the tour of the east metro in the early afternoon today. Went to a Walmart, a GM, and a FF. absolutely zero 223 or 9mm at either location. I am ok on 9mm but would really like some 223 so that I can actually shoot my AR.

Well, when I see 5 weirdos dressed in togas stabbing a guy in the middle of the park in full view of 100 people, I shoot the bastards. That's my policy.
