Anyone receive their rebate check yet? I haven't.

What are the pro and con for safety and non safety? Why would they make both versions?

Some people won't carry without a safety lever, other people won't carry something with a safety lever... Make both versions and make both camps happy.

Pro of gun with safety - when you pull the trigger it won't fire
Con of safety - when you pull the trigger it won't fire

Depending how you view that tells you which version to by. Mine doesn't have a safety.

Received an email from S&W apologizing for the delay in rebate processing. Said to expect processing by July 7th

Maybe they have rung the costs so far down they are transitioning to a sales model like a car where you'd be stupid to buy without incentives.

Actually, they sent me two rebate checks. One obviously a duplicate and in error. I had entered the online rebate form twice. First time it didn't give me a confirmation so I re-entered it and then got confirmation. But it obviously went through both times and they didn't catch the duplicate. I called them today and informed them and am mailing the second check back. (Damn ethical standards!)

Same thing happened to me. Received two checks today. Will call tomorrow to find out where to return the second check to.

Haven't gotten mine yet but I moved so I wouldn't be surprised if that is slowing it down.
