Also picked up the Marlin 795. $124 and there's a $25 MIR so $99. I believe this deal will last another week.

Got it. Wow, it's so purty, and it's LIGHT! Now if only we hadn't had torrential rains the other night. I'm about as sure as I can be that the road to the local sportsman's club is washed out, and I don't feel like canoeing in!

I ran into the issue with the canted rails. I will call Marlin on Monday. When I put a scope on, it tilts 5-10 degrees to the right side.I didn't notice at first but when you look at the mounting bracket the left side of the bracket is noticeably higher off the receiver base than the right side. Not entirely sure how it will affect shooting as I just installed it a bit ago. I'm sure this could be corrected with windage and elevation adjustment but it shouldn't happen in the first place. I suggest you guys test fit a scope first.

Any specific details about the rifles that you know? or are they a mixed bag? (i.e. any laminated stocks? years of manufacture? metal inserts in the sling holes? all round receivers?)
