Stripped AR lowers

Postby whiteox on Wed Jan 02, 2013 11:04 pm

Saw this on the liberal gun club forum. They are doing a group buy at $120 / per and ship to your FFL.

Regular price is $149.00 which isnt great but better than Armslist. Dont care for the rollmark myself but if ya need one maybe you can overlook it.

I trust you can all google well enough to get in on the group buy or maybe somebody here wants to set one up?

A bit pricey in pre CT terms, but seams reasonable now especially if they are able to ship in the next few weeks. Figured what the heck so I ordered one. ;) Dianne Feinstein eat your heart out baby.

I'm thinking about starting a group buy of these myself. I need at least ten to get to the 120.00 price.

Keep in mind I'm in Wisconsin though... Any cheddar heads can get them directly from me for the 120.00 price plus a 20.00 transfer fee.

For the Minnesotans, I can deliver all of them to one dealer, and he can do all the transfers... Maybe in Woodbury. (Hoffys maybe...?)

I would need payment up front and it looks like 3 weeks.

Any interest?

Is there a parts list for building an AR? I am interested for sure but I wonder what it takes to build my own.

Yes, you'll need:
1. A lower parts kit or LPK (trigger, hammer, pistol grip, springs and pins that all go into the lower-and is an easy installation via YouTube)
2. Buffer, buffer spring, buffer extension tube, end plate and your choice of stock
(both #1 & 2 above would also be included in a lower build kit or LBK)
3. Your choice of barreled upper assembly would probably be the easiest.
4. Your choice of bolt control group or BCG which is the bolt and bolt carrier. (sometimes the BCG is also included in the upper)

You could also build your upper from a stripped upper, but that would require a few more tools. If you went with a barreled upper assembly, you could get away with putting the whole thing together with a few punches, hammer, Allen wrenches, and YouTube. It's a pretty easy job and would take just a hour or so.

I think I got everything..... :?

I personally have zero experience at building an AR, but here's a couple of links that have the stuff I believe you'll need to complete the lower:

Delta 3 tactical has 400 lowers coming this month (various makes), so you can go there and get the same "$140 deal."

I've got two coming, and will update how that goes.

My good buddy is an FFL here and charges very reasonable transfer fees. I am quite sure, if interested, he would be happy to set up a group buy for these.

In regards to buying a lower from Brownell's-
Will they sell a receiver to a non-FFL customer and ship it to an FFL?
I made an inquiry to them and have yet to get a response.
I'd have no problem backordering one if I knew the order wouldn't get cancelled due to me not having an FFL.

Yes they will. I just sent them my FFL info for a friend of mine who got a great deal on a lower made by Tactical Machining if I recall correctly
