So it would end up at $29.99 + $9.72 shipping + $20 transfer fee = $59.71 + tax

Or I could just bop over to Sportsman's Guide and pick one up for $47.49.

Your math is off. I believe sportsman s will charge you their $10 firearm fee plus tax so same price.

I did not know they had such a fee.

So if it is the same price and I have to drive to an FFL anyway why buy online then? Only difference would be driving to SG or to the FFL.

They do for firearms. Not certain if it applies to lowers, but I would sure think so. Usually on the firearms their prices are good enough at the club level that it is still a good deal but for a lower...

I wasn't charged anything extra over whatever the sticker price was on a lower from SG last fall. How long ago was this $10 added?

They have a full blown guns section now after the remodel (last year).

February. I double checked and was charged this fee for a handgun. Looking at their site I believe the fee is 9.99 for handguns and 4.99 for long guns. I only assumed it applied to lowers as well but likely not considering your experience.

I just went on Saturday and wasn't charged a fee. Was yours ordered and shipped to the store? Or did you walk in the store and pick it up? I went in and got sucked into their buy a complete upper and get a stripped Anderson lower for free!

Handgun ordered on line and then picked up at the retail store. It might not apply to lowers.

I just walked in and bought one. They let me hand fit to the upper I already had too. I chose from 3 lowers they had.

Pleasant experience despite their info tags listing Gander's pricing to make them look like mega deals by comparison.
