That thing looks almost as clunky as a hi point to me, but at that price, it's easy to justify that one as a gun that you just stash someplace for a SHTF moment.

I still say a Glock or M&P is a better deal.

Wasn't it recalled almost immediately after release, when it flopped miserably at SHOT on range day before that?

That design either sucks azz, or has worse luck than someone with dirt on Hillary.

I think that was the R51. The RP9 is a full-size, polymer framed, locked breech. The R51 is a single-stack, aluminum framed, blowback action.

Yeah, I'm thinking of the wrong gun.

I still wouldn’t trust it... Remington hasn’t been what it used to be.

If it comes back in stock, I may buy one just because. Any gun with four mags for $169 is a worthy experiment. Like I said, worst case, it'd make a good truck gun or a stored SHTF gun.

I've had absolutely awful luck with Remington under Freedom Group. Remington "not being what it used to be" is an understatement. Luckily they have good customer service for when you need to send a gun in 3 times. I still haven't had a chance to function test it after the 3rd time. Pretty much all of my Remington's have gone back at least once.

IMO, yes, it sucks.

I only shot a sample of one though. YMMV

It is sold out at Palmetto but available for around $20 more at a couple other places.

Or you could pop for a S&W M&P 9mm full size for $350:

Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm Handgun at AIM Surplus

This does NOT appear to be the 2.0 model. Looks like they are blowing out the old model. But still a hell of a deal on a nice gun.

Maybe it’s just your opinion of Remington’s quid pro quo shenanigans? ;)
